DDP Sea Freight From A Guangdong Factory Floor To An Amazon Inbound Point: The Sequence That Decides The Sailing Date

Fecha de publicación: 2026-10-23 11:59:35

A door-to-door sea shipment that begins on a factory floor in Guangdong and finishes at an Amazon inbound point is mostly a paperwork sequence. This page walks that sequence in the order it actually happens, and names the two steps that decide the sailing date.

This is a procedure walkthrough. No client is named, no client volume or result is quoted, and no line on this page commits us on an individual booking.

The two dates that matter, and they are not the vessel date

A container with a booking but no accepted export entry does not board. So the first date is when the declaration data is lodged, and the second is the carrier cut-off for the sailing the booking assumes. Everything else on this page is scheduling around those two.

What the shipper supplies

Four inputs, before we can quote the leg with any confidence. A commercial invoice that resolves to one commodity line per SKU. A packing list with per-pallet dimensions and gross weight, taken from the finished cartons rather than the drawing. The inbound reference generated in the seller central, which fixes the destination fulfilment centre. And written authority for us to appear as the filing party on the export entry. The export file this leg travels on is that entry, lodged by us under the authority given, sitting beside the carrier’s own booking confirmation.

What we prepare and file here

Export declarations are prepared and filed in house, so the supervision code is chosen by whoever is looking at the actual order rather than by a form. The choice turns on two facts: who the buyer is, and whether the goods leave China for a foreign warehouse before any sale exists. A movement into overseas stock that will be sold later is declared under 9810, and both 9710 and 9810 require trade data to reach customs before the declaration is filed — which is why the order feed or warehouse booking has to be reachable early, not at the dock.

What stays outside our hands

Duty paid on a door-to-door lane means the destination-side charges are settled by the lane, not that the importer of record decision is ours to make; naming that entity is the seller’s call and it should be settled before the invoice is printed. Ocean transit is quoted as a range, because carrier schedules, roll-overs and season move it. The appointment at the inbound point belongs to the marketplace’s calendar.

The order of events, as it runs

Goods arrive at one of our Shenzhen, Suzhou or Dongguan sites and are measured as received. Pallet and carton plan is confirmed against those measurements. Trade data is transmitted, the export entry is lodged, and the container is loaded against the carrier cut-off. The bill of lading is issued and the destination entry is prepared from the same document set, so the two sides are not reconciling different numbers. On arrival the lane clears and delivery is booked into the inbound point’s window.

The three stalls we see most, and the check that catches each

Weight and cube disagree with the packing list, and the check is a physical measure at goods-in rather than a document match. A SKU arrives without a resolvable commodity code, and the check is one code per line on the invoice before the file is built. The inbound reference points at a different fulfilment centre than the one the seller intended, and the check is reading the reference back to the seller in the same message that confirms the destination port.

When something on the lane goes wrong

Exception notices are answered within 2 hours, with work toward a resolution inside 24 hours on China business days — the same clock published in our liability terms, not a separate service level invented for this page.

Written by the operations desk that books and clears these lanes, not by a content team working from brochures.
